A culmination of 13 years of investigative development into INTELLIPLASTIC® MATERIALS (QorTek’s proprietary and patented Plastic Composite Sensor Technology), COEUS sensors offer unparalleled advantages to applications requiring load/pressure measurement in rugged environments, possibly subjected to very large overload conditions.

COEUS sensors eliminate all of the unreliable and expensive signal process electronics requirements needed for all other such sensors.

COUES pressure/load sensors have all the same advantages of flexibility of Optical Fiber Sensors, but no disadvantages of exorbitant cost, damage susceptibility, extremely low signal strength and complex optoelectronic interface requirements.

COUES pressure/load sensors have advantage of low profile packaging as with Piezoelectric Sensors but without their susceptibility to cracking, delamination and failure when subject to overload conditions.  COUES sensors cannot be de-poled and do not require the expensive output signal process electronics needed by piezoelectric-based sensor measurement devices. They are also not restricted to providing just a single measurement per device.

Signal voltages generated are substantially higher ( = lower noise) than COTS Accelerometers, vastly improving signal fidelity (= S/N ratio).

QorTek uses custom developed post processing techniques to produce a ultra thin/ultra flat Intelliplastic® panels. Each resulting panel can be further cut to size, either at QorTek or by customer (some customers have preferred to provide their own substrate), as to exactly meet install or packaging footprint requirements. Once cut to size, the Intelliplastic® layer is mounted onto thin layer PCB or flexible Kapton substrate. The resulting COEUS sensors can then be directly installed, or packaged and installed, as to meet centimeter range to millimeter-range pressure/load monitoring install footprint needs.
