ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create 3-D and FEA models for new designs and concepts
  • Analyze models for manufacturability and create detailed design packages
  • Optimize mechanical/electrical designs to meet form, fit, functionality, etc. of target requirements
  • Selection and sourcing of materials
  • Design and execution of laboratory experiments
  • Verifying analytical results to FEA modeling
  • Preparing progress reports and presentations for sponsors
  • Provide lead on discreet project tasks
  • Reporting on task completion or risks to program managers
  • Manage several junior engineers to meet the mechanical engineering needs of the company between the Linden and State College locations
  • Analyze models for manufacturability and create detailed design packages
  • Selection and sourcing of materials
  • Verifying analytical results to FEA modeling
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Earned BS in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Science & Mechanics, or related disciplines
  • A Minimum of four years of professional experience in piezo device, power electronics, or defense industries
  • Advanced experience in mechanical design, FEA modeling, heat transfer, electronics, and manufacturing preferred
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills
  • Working knowledge of COMSOL or Solidworks simulation, FEA design
  • Advanced experience in 3-D modeling software (Solidworks preferred)
  • Ability to handle (Lift/Carry/Push/Pull) up to 25 lbs. and be able to work in an active lab environment
  • Other tasks as required to support the business objectives
  • Possibility of working out of State College or Linden facilities, or both.
  • US Citizenship required
