Experienced PCB Engineers are motivated designers who create innovative designs and solutions for electronics systems. QorTek engineers are involved with every step of the design process including: brainstorming concepts, modeling designs, fabricating/testing prototypes, and final parts manufacture/assembly. The PCBE2 will design PCB’s to meet the specifications and requirements for the system. Engineering tasks will include designing circuit boards from prototypes to MIL-STD tested deliverables. Working closely with Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and the Manufacturing Team at QorTek, to develop the system to meet the program. Working with the Mechanical Engineering team to determine part placement of heat dissipating components to assist with design of heatsinks and enclosures for the system. Starting in the initial program phase, systems got through initial designs and development, in which the deliverable could be a prototype. Successive programs could have deliverables that meet the following for PCB requirements, UL, IPC-Class 3, or Radiation Hardened. Program durations range from 6 to 18 months in this fast-paced environment so you will get the opportunity to own your design from start to finish and see it transitioned into the warfighter’s hands.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Schematic Drawings
  • Creating Footprints for various parts
  • PCB Layout with appropriate constraints
  • Create documentation to support Manufacturing
  • Design for Manufacturing
  • Design for Testing
  • Work with other engineering disciplines
  • Communicate with internal and external Manufacturers for Fab and Assembly
  • Preparing progress reports and presentations for sponsors
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Earned BS in Electrical Engineering or related disciplines
  • Experience in PCB Design Software (Altium, EAGLE, KiCad…) (required)
  • Basic circuit Analysis and Troubleshooting Skills (required)
  • Comfort with multitasking
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication capability
  • Knowledge in Analog and Digital Circuits
  • Other tasks as required to support the business objectives
  • US Citizenship (required)
